The Asankrangwa gold belt is situated approximately midway between the Ashanti and Sefwi gold belts in Ghana. Our holdings are located in the northern segment of this gold belt and are comprised of five contiguous gold concessions - Twedee, Moseaso, Manso Nkwanta, Manso Atwere and Assuowunu. The four concessions occupy a total of 456.2 sq. km and contain 24 km of known mineralized strike length. This region of the Asankrangwa gold belt has a significant history of exploration as well as gold mining.
Previous operators, in the mid to late 1990's, carried out extensive preliminary exploration by way of regional geochemistry and geology, geophysics and trenching, producing a number of, as yet untested anomalies. It will be AGG's focus to incorporate this data into its own database derived from the Company's work on the contiguous Twedee and Moseaso licenses:
In May of 2006, AGG commenced a regional exploration program of the Assuowunu concession comprised of silt sampling, grid establishment and soil sampling. The silt sampling program defined four anomalous zones and the soil sampling program defined five gold-in-soil anomalous zones. The current program, which is underway, will consist of 66.9 km of line cutting on 200 meter spacing in the southern section of the survey area and 400 meter spacing on the northern section of the survey area. The entire survey area will cover 20.8 sq. km. For more detailed information on the Asankrangwa Gold Belt Holdings, please refer to the following press releases: African Gold Group, Inc.
